Shitty tips...

...don't get me anywhere. Haven't posted in here for a couple of days, but I've had quite the few hectic days, so that's understandable. Not like anybody's reading this or anything besides myself.

Work went okay tonight. I would much rather work the smoking section all the time, as opposed to the rest of the place, simply because I think smoker's are better tippers and have a more relaxed attitude. They come in, have a smoke to start out with, smoke until their meal comes out, and then hang around after they're finished smoking and drinking coffee. Non-smokes are all antsy as soon as they come in and fidgity the entire time. And as soon as they're done, they expect to be able to leave right then and there. So impatient. Oh well. I need to burn Chris his Cure cd's tonight before I head back tomorrow. He's a fellow fan, and I told him I would bring some live shows and b-sides for him to have. Helping out a fellow Cure fan. All of the other people are great. Except for this one dickhead cook punk, who thinks he's hot shit and is actually far from it. Chris and I both hate him, so that's cool.

I've been downloading a lot of Queen lately. I've always been interested in their music, so now I'm finally getting around to getting some. Really good stuff. FM had some kick-ass vocal abilities. Seems like all the great vocalists come from Britain. Lennon, McCartney, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Thom Yorke, Robbie Williams, etc. Just to name a few.

Eurocup 2004 started today. Wishing that I could see some of the matches. That'd be awesome. Especially Holland. Go Dutchies! I need to find a sportsbar that would possibly be carrying them up in KC and go and see some.

Finally got a hold of my Cure VHS seller. He's going to send it next week, so that's awesome. Soon I'll be able to chill and check out some cool videos. Awesome! I can't wait for their new albums to come out. And I wish that the remastered albums weren't taking so long to come out. Sheesh!

I find it laughable how it was impossible to find a single place in all of the H city to buy a copy of Sports Illustrated. Blows my mind. Even the god forsaken wal-fart didn't carry it. How sad is that? I need to check out the Price Chopper tomorrow though, hopefully they have it.

Lindsay Lohan's Breasts!!!!

So LL hosts the MTV MA's tomorrow. I'll be interested to see how many people randomly come to this now that I have the above title to this post. Ha. I'll start posting other absurd/topical titles and see who comes in. I read where Eminumb mooned the crowd at the award show. Nice. So classy of him. "He's just keepin' it real, dawg." Yeah.... *sigh* I heard that new song by him and "his band" D12. Just awful. Seriously, if that's getting major airplay on both of the mtv's and on the radio, that's just sad. At least in the past he's attempted to make some half-decent music, but now it looks like Eminumb is just wanting to cash in royalty cheques.

Speaking of mtv2, I think it's sad that it's more or less become Yo!mtv2raps! all the freakin' time. Seriously, how much rap/hip-hop do they need to show every freakin' day? And it's always the same shit, over and over and over. I can recall specifically for like weeks how they showed that asinine video by Mario Winans that sampled Enya. And then there's their "sucker free sunday" crapfest, and other countless wastes of time. I find it tremendously hilarious that they show so-called "greatest hits" video collections every evening of half-talent people like snoop, missy elliot or nas, over and over and over. Their careers aren't even that long to begin with people. They even had a greatest hits session for Linkin Park, who have 2 albums to their credit. *sigh* How sad is that? Correct me if I'm wrong, but back in the day mtv2 used to actually have some merit, showing vidoes NOT SEEN (I repeat, not seen) on the regular mtv, such as old 80s stuff, more alternative and indie groups, plus all the fantastic music from the UK and Europe that we miss out on over here. I'm sure mtv2 will some day morph completely into an all rap/hip-hop channel to compete with one that BET will put out, and there will have to be an mtv3.

Work went okay today. They f-ed up my schedule though, and I didn't work for my first hour of being there. Plus, I need to try and find someone to work next Monday when my buddy Mike is here. I actually had my first "walk outs" today. The people who are too impatient and "important" to wait even 2 minutes for their server to get to them. Because of course they don't have to wait that long at their beloved Mcdonald's or wherever. Sometimes people should take a serious look at themselves and realize that they're really not in that big of a "rush" or "hurry" if you come to a sit down restaurant in the first place. And like they have such important lives to get back to. I long to go back to Europe where people just take it easy and relax and life is more easy-going and enjoyable. But I digress. I made good tips, so that was nice. They're training a new lady too. Kinda really short and dumpy though, and she moves around like an oompa loompa as a result. ha.

Still no contact back from my Cure VHS seller on ebay. Maybe he's having second thoughts and doesn't want to sell it after all. Or maybe he's pissed that I won for $1. Speaking of currency, I pray to all that is holy that dead actor Ron Reagan is not put on the $10. People's memory must really be glossed over or something for everyone to think he was just so damn wonderful all the time. If people are so willing to look over mistakes that he made, I only hope they canonize Clinton in due time. Now there was a good president.

Tomorrow I find out if the paper published my letter, and what changes, if any they made to it. ha! As I told my friend B, I can't wait to see what happens. People will possibly send me hate mail or write retarded letters in response. ha! Just what I was hoping for.

Success! I have The Cure!

Kudos to my winning bid of one whole US dollar for my sought after Cure VHS. It should be pretty cool and something for me to watch from time to time. I should keep an eye on the really old VHS tapes too, from back when the Cure was more "punkish" and whatnot. Of course, if they're anything like those old Depeche Mode videos I always wanted to see and finally did, it could be a big letdown.

Work was okay tonight. Smoking section, which thankfully doesn't get too many visitors in our uber health conscious nation. I did get a group of four white trash people (2 couples) who only left me a f-ing $1 tip for a $37 bill. Asshats. This young high school couple really surprised me too, because the guy and girl just seemed total opposites and I would've never pictured the two together. But isn't love grand like that? A grand piano that is.

I need to go to the mall tomorrow to get some things to send overseas. Hoping that it is not too expensive. Sheesh. I just need to rob a diamond store or something like that.

Told my friend B tonight about my letter to the editor of the local paper that I hope gets published this weekend. Should be really hilarious and awesome if it is and they don't alter it. Really reams Bu$h a new one and is sarcastic as hell. Stupid small-minded rednecks around here disgust me a times for their blindingly stupid support for him. Ugh.

Get rich quick....

.....just hit up an AB. For those who don't know, let me explain. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, the way they handle cash at AB is quite odd. Instead of utitlizing those modern conveniences known as cash registers, instead they have all of the waiters and waitresses hold onto the cash the entire shift. They collect the amount due, and make change out of what cash on hand they have. So, most waiters and waitresses are walking around with a large amount of money on them for no reason. It goes to say that on a Fri. or Sat. night, most servers are walking around with around $500 in their pockets. Easy picking if someone were to go and try to get some quick cash. If there were only four servers alone, the person would look to haul in around $2,000. And there's always more than 4 on at those shifts. Kinda makes me wonder why they do that this particular way, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

I've seen some Cure VHS tapes on eBay that I'm keeping track of. Would be neat to see some of their old videos, and who knows when they are going to release them on DVD anyway.

Saw two ladies out this morning, getting their "exercise" in by walking. How sad is it in this country when the basic form of human mobility and transportation is considered by many to be a form of strenuous exercise?
Scene: Man lies crumpled over in pain, clutching his stomach, from which a small pool of blood has begun to form.
Man on Street: (in exasperated anguish) Excuse me miss, but could you help me for a second with something?

"Exercising" individual: Nope! Can't you see that I'm exercising?

MoS: (puzzled look) Excuse me?

EI: (angrily) I'M WALKING!!!!!!!!!
EI proceeds to walk away and leave MoS to die.
End Scene.

Pennies from Heaven my ass....

....I'll nickel and dime ya. Work went okay today. Nothing too strenuous or exhausting. Some punk kids (roughly in their 20's) were real generous today when they decided to leave me pennies, nickels and dimes for my tip, when their bill was over $40. Assholes like that make me want to spit in their food ahead of time, or at least throw the change back at them as they are leaving the parking lot.

Two bible thumpers were my customers as well, wanting to know if there was anything I needed them to pray for while I was getting their food. "Hmmm, yeah, how about for you guys to leave like a $5,000 tip?" They were okay, and I had to be super nice to them because they were from one of the ass managers churches.

Speaking of which, that particular ass manager (and that's no typo, they are ass managers) scares the shit out of me, and it's not simply due to the fact that I'm afraid she might want to eat me or other servers some day. (She weighs, oh let's say, roughly 400 lbs.) She is just one of those really "I'm always right, you're always wrong buddy" dipshit kinda people. She likes to think she can intimidate people because of her position at the business, but I have none of it, and neither do many others. Also, due to her Gigantor-esque proportions and lack of any college education, she has one of those attitudes of "So I don't have any hint of being sexually attractive or desirable to anyone on this planet, but I don't care, because I'm just happy being an asst. manager and I have all I need with my friends and my chocolate cake, so fuck 'em all." More or less, she likes to act like she's pretty important, but I think she's only relevant in keeping the hinges on her fridge in working order.

The lack of a full-time dishwasher scares me some. Not only because the only guy that they can con into coming in during peak times on the wknds is some crazy half-ass, but because of the ramifications of such problems. Because there is no said full-time dishwasher, this means that the servers and cooks end up having to wash the dishes when they can or when there's a need (ie, running out of silverware, which happens quite a lot). So, the same people that are cooking and bringing people their food, also just got done washing some other people's disgusting leftovers, trash and garbage off of plates. Mmmmmmm, yummy! I have no clue why some big int'l corp like AB can't figure this out, because even the mensa people running Country Kitchen had that figured out. Oh well. Just something to consider the next time you eat there.
